Transition into fall without saying goodbye to summer just yet

Summer has been great, style wise.  With fall is creeping around the corner, leaves are coming down but that doesn't mean you have to abandon summer fun and colours.

Bright colours look amazing with fall's dark hues so mix it up.  Black, grey and navy are always great colours to switch from summer to fall.  Accessorize with a pop of colour and you are ready!  Warm weather pieces in rich jewel tones cry out for a pop of bright colour.

Personally, I keep one element of my look summer focused (floral, neon) and work in warm, layering pieces around it such as trousers, a jacket or suede booties.  I tend to swap the light skirts for pants, tights and leggings and opt for a monochromatic look overall.

Summer dresses continue into fall, just add opaque black tights and a leather jacket to make your look go the extra mile.  Booties and a loosely oversized, cozy sweater help shield me from the cold weather.

Regardless of the season, my love affair with colour continues, opting for bright prints, light blazers and jackets.  A rich floral combined with military jacket could inject some life into my tired summer wardrobe.  I know cobalt has been around a few seasons now, but my head is still turning when I see a cobalt blue dress, or some fine accessories.

In recent years style has become really something personal, often, comfortable.  When you're comfortable you look better but that doesn't mean you have to sacrifice style.

Remember while the weather is warm you can still wear open-toe shoes!
