Gems which display multiple colours in a single stone are multicolour gemstones. Some gems including tourmaline, fluorite and ametrine have zones of different colours. Some gems are strongly pleochroic or even dichroic and display different colours from different angles are alexandrite, tanzanite and Iolite.
